programmatic mixing - Olympic Games 1928

1928 was the first and only time the Netherlands organized the Olympics. At the Olympic site, many temporary structures were used; a swimming stadium, an amazing beer tent, a hall for boxing, wrestling and weightlifting and a hall for gymnastics and fencing. At the site of these structures other programs were added after the games. Like the two Citroen buildings, who in the near future will again change function. At the site of the swimming pool tennis courts were added, which were recently again replaced by housing. Even in the stadium itself new functions were added underneath the seats. This resulted in an interesting programmatic mix between Olympic relics, sport related programs and totally different programs such as offices and houses.
