Zuid As Kiosk Amsterdam
Competition 2009
To introduce the intimacy, which is characteristic for Amsterdam, to its latest business center we propose to put wooden furniture in its public space. The furniture consists of programmatically taylorized and site specific tools that can be moved and adapted. The counter of the kiosk is directed towards the main pedestrian routes. A rotatable panel that can be used as menu, display or closet is interacting with pedestrians. Integrated plant holders connect to the existing green zones. An integrated bicycle pump is addressing the cyclists. Thus the public space is activated in a bottom up way.
